East Carolina University, in partnership with the National Defense University accepts credits toward completion of the MS in Technology Systems:
Concentrations Admission Standards An applicant must have a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional association and have an overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work. Must have completed the National Defense University's AMP and CIOC programs. The GRE has been waived. For more than seven years, the Department of Technology Systems has offered MS degrees online. The program is Internet-based and students complete courses, collaborate on projects, perform research, and receive faculty advisory counseling via the Internet. Each student should have a state-of-the-art computer and reliable Internet access. Students spend an average of 8-12 hours per week in preparation for and participating in each course. Most of the students are working professionals who are pursuing the degree for career advancement. Average completion time is 24-28 months and courses are scheduled in an integrated sequence that allows starting in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Formats for the courses vary by instructor but all include frequent interaction with the instructor and other students. Self reliance is a must for successful students. Courses are offered using a variety of Internet-based tools including email, chat, threaded discussion, web, file transfer, audio, video, and collaboration tools. The first course in the program, ITEC 6050, introduces the use of these tools in a collaborative research/study environment. |
