Research & Outreach

The College of Technology and Computer Science (TECS) is committed to fostering faculty and student research projects as well as enhancing the economic development of Eastern North Carolina and its surrounding areas.

Each department within the College of TECS participates in research and grants as well as community and economic development. The Research Showcase page discusses some of the latest topics and projects currently being focused on within the College.

Furthermore, East Carolina works closely with state and local government agencies to obtain funding for some of these projects. You can a list of some of the supporting groups on the Research Topics page.

The College of TECS also has a major outreach initiative which also promotes economic development called the Center of Innovation in Technology and Engineering or CITE. Its focus is to boost the economic growth in the Eastern North Carolina region and is based on relationships with regional community colleges. This effort is to grow the business base in eastern North Carolina in a team effort with other state organizations.
