How to Apply

Submit your application for admission three to six months prior to the term you wish to be enrolled at ECU. Download and complete your application through the East Carolina University Admissions webpage.

Transfer applicants under the age of 24 will be subject to the Minimum Course Requirements (MCR) regardless of the AAS degree (AS and AA graduates are exempt from that rule).

Important steps/notes in the application process

  • Select your major as BS in Industrial Technology (Concentration will be added after student is admitted)
  • If you want to enroll in the online option, select the Distance Education/Online only program
  • Be sure to indicate your AAS degree, if applicable, and all colleges you attended on your application
  • Have official transcripts sent from ALL colleges you attended to the address below

  • If you are 24 years of age or older, you do not need to send in a high school transcript
  • If you have military training, be sure to send admissions an official copy of your DD214, SMART, or AARTS.

BSIT Acceptance

To be accepted into the BSIT program, you must have at least 24 transferable general education hours with a minimum grade point level of 2.5.

Upon your acceptance into the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Program, you will receive 37 technical hours for your approved AAS degree and the registrar’s office will compile the acceptable general education transfer hours. You will then be able to work with the College of Technology and Computer Science’s Advising Center to plan out your remaining courses to be taken for the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Program.
