This site is for you, the student, to explore and find out more about the professional Advising services offered through the TECS Advising Center.

You may want to see your advisor when:

• You have questions about your major and academic performance/progress
• You need advise about adding, dropping, or withdrawing from a course
• You want to change your major
• You don't know where to get the needed assistance concerning any situation affecting your experience at ECU

Advisor Responsibilities Include:

• Enhancing knowledge and understanding of the options available to Undergraduate students within or entering the College of Technology and Computer Science

• Assisting with appropriate course selection and maintaining accurate records to help ensure a successful path towards graduation
• Helping the student understand rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the College and East Carolina University
• Providing referral information to other campus resources as necessary for student success
• Providing opportunities for facilitating a sense of self responsibility for academic success and development of the well-rounded student

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining and recording your own records and academic progress
• Arriving in a timely manner to all set appointments
• Bringing any information to assist the advising session
• Coming to all appointments prepared with questions or requests
• Reading and responding appropriately to all e-mails sent by your advisor.

Please remember to check your ECU Pirate Mail account daily. Advisors will regularly contact you regarding important dates and/or information.
